Arthur Johnson is the mystery man. Very little is known about him with certainty, apart from the fact that he lived on Hurst Road, Bexley at a house called Grangehurst from about 1905-1911.
He served as President for one year only, at a time when the Club was at a low ebb both financially and in playing strength. As was the cust0m in those days, Mr Johnson entertained the teams to lunch on the occasion of the annual match against Kent Club & Ground in his year as President.
lt seems that be left Bexley in 19l I and went to Live in Farnham, Surrey, and that he was employed by Gillespie Bros. merchants, of 82 Fenchurch Street. London.
His son, George J. Johnson was probably the person of that name who was on the cricket club committee in 1907.
Arthur Johnson died in 1922 at the age of 69.
